Yentel Caers mounts colossal comeback to claim second world title, while Lennart Neubauer earns his maiden event victory on the PWA World Tour. Day 3 of the schauinslandreisen Windsurf World Cup Sylt was billed as potentially one of the biggest days of action of this year’s event and that’s exactly how things played out as the Men’s Freestyle Double Elimination was completed in some of the best freestyle conditions witnessed in Sylt for a long time.

Yentel Caers stormed through the double elimination. The Belgian was on fire as he was eager to claim another Freestyle World Champion title. His highest score was 44.6 points in the heat against Sam Esteve. Yentel won 7 heats in a row and faced Lennart Neubauer, the winner of the single elimination, in the final. It was a close battle and Lennart won by 1.5 points difference against a very impressive Belgian, who secured the 2023 Freestyle World title.

Lennart sailed extremely consistent on both tacks and won his first freestyle PWA event in the men category and secured the second place overall. He managed to win a vice world champion title in his comeback season after a severe knee injury. Adrien Bosson, last year’s World Champion, secured the third place overall ahead of Steven van Broeckhoven.

After the completion of the epic freestyle there was still time to squeeze in one elimination of racing.
