Marine Hunter walks away from Germany with her first victory on the PWA Tour. It was an early start on the penultimate day of the 2023 schauinslandreisen Windsurf World Cup Sylt, presented by got2b. With a 7am skippers meeting and a first possible start at 7:20am the race director tried everything to complete the women’s single. So, at 7:30 the winners final of the women’s single elimination got kicked off and Marine Hunter seized the opportunity in the onshore conditions to win her maiden final against Maria Behrens.
Sarah-Quita Offringa faced Justyna Sniady in the battle for third and fourth and the current World Tour leader was able to secure third place in the Single Elimination.
The Men’s Single Elimination also got underway, but only the first round could be completed before the wind became too light to compete with the direction remaining bolt onshore.
