On the last weekend of September the Austrian Freestyle Championship took place at Lake Neusiedl in Podersdorf during the “Stylehunters Surf ÖM”. Because it was not windy on the weekend the freestylers decided to move the competition to the day after. On Monday, the wind arrived and the action started. 9 of the best Austrian freestyle windsurfers were battling for the places on the podium. After one double elimination local hero and PWA freestyler Max Matissek got crowned Austrian Freestyle Champion 2014 in front of Lorenz Forstenlechner and Mathias Kraschitzer. Max Brinnich finished in fourth, but he unfortunately dislocated his shoulder during a Shaka and had to give up. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he will be back on the water soon.
