The water sports world is eagerly awaiting the upcoming boot. The world’s largest international water sports trade fair will take place in Düsseldorf from January 20 to 28, 2024. In Hall 17, water sports fans will once again find everything that surfers, foilers, wakeboarders and SUP fans could wish for and much more.
Interested beginners and die-hard water sports fans will once again get their money’s worth in Düsseldorf. In addition to stars of the surf scene such as Bjørn and Liam Dunkerbeck, Balz Müller, Philip Köster, Sebastian Kördel or Steven van Broeckhoven, who will be showing off their stunts on the XL indoor pool and answering questions from fans, manufacturers will be bustling around the Beach World and presenting their latest products and trends. Discover the latest innovations from Starboard, Ensis, Armstrong, F2 Fun, Gun Sails and co. and take to the water yourself.

And to create the right beach feeling, there will be soft beats in the hall from 5 p.m., inviting you to have a cockatil at the bar. At the catering stands, there will be a range of vegan snacks and meals served in plastic-free packaging. The perfect setting to round off an exciting day at the fair.

Trend theme foiling in focus at boot 2024

This year, the XL pool in Hall 17 will once again be the center of the action. The show program on the action pool of the Düsseldorf trade fair offers surfing attractions in all variations. There will be wakeboard shows, SUP sprint races and tow-in windsurfing shows as well as daily wingfoil and pumpfoil demonstrations. Skimboarders can put their skills to the test on another pool. That surfers and wingers can show even better what is possible with the new boards, sails and wings, a stronger wind will be blowing in Hall 17 in 2024. 82 turbines will heat up the athletes and enable them to fly over the water and perform spectacular jumps through the air.

Register and take part

If you want to gain your first experience of the various sports in Hall 17, it is best to find out about the program in advance. To avoid long queues in the hall, online registration is required.

Water sports, even without getting wet

The Association of German Windsurfing Schools (VDWS) offers a simulator for anyone who prefers dry practice first: In the popular “Surf Academy”, beginners and intermediates can gain experience of handling a wing, or surf sail in their hands or improve their technique. Registration for all Surf Academy attractions takes place directly at the VDWS stand in the hall.

boot brings surf stars to the trade fair city of Düsseldorf

The cracks of the surfing world will gather again in January. Among them is the absolute star of the scene and 42-time windsurfing world champion Bjørn Dunkerbeck, who will not only be signing autographs, but will also be presenting the film “born to windsurf” about his life and career at the trade fair on Thursday (January 25, 2024) from 6 p.m., as well as his son Liam, who is already a two-time junior world champion.
At the last boot, the wing pros Balz Müller and Michael Neff, together with the multiple U16 world champion in kiting, Finn Flügel, not only made the water in the XL pool foam, but also caused it to overflow here and there. They will be back again this year.

Infotainment, shopping & surfing trips

In addition to the stage program, the experts will of course also be showcasing the latest product developments at their stands in the Beach World . The wide range of brand manufacturers covers all surf sports. It offers a unique market overview and in-depth discussions with experts on all current surfing topics and the trends of tomorrow. Well equipped in this way, the shopping spree in Hall 17 will be maximum fun.
