Greg Scherpe & Pierre Bouras from Sème Production visited Boujmaa Guilloul in his home country Morocco and while locked down produced a beautiful film – a tribute to the sea – with the title “An Ocean Of Tea”.
In 2020 Boujmaa spent many months in Maui and on the West Coast of the US (Oregon) and returned in great windsurfing shape to his home country. Even his signature Rasta hairstyle is shaved off. Boujmaa has matured into a wise waterman. And at the end of the video he surfs in cleanest waves in the region of Taghazout and shows the endless potential of the spots in Morocco.
Thanks to the producers Greg & Pierre, who always put a lot of effort into their projects, just by the love for the sport.
Boujmaa Guilloul: “Greg and Pierre made a beautiful clip while locked down in Moulay. We weren’t lucky enough with a session down south, but we made almost the most out of what we had. This is the results and it’s minty.”
Great, both, edit and B.G. the Morrocean legend :).
Stunning clip. That cheese roll into backloop is so stylish. It should be on every young pwa aspirant bucket list. How much do you guys reckon it could score in contest?
Sweet riding, clean waves, corny over-the-top editing. You’re windsurfing. You’re not landing on the Moon and you’re not saving the world.
I made an account to answer, because i realy can´t see how s.o. could comment in this way. Maybe u know each other personal, then it´s different, but for me: Even if i don´t like the edit (btw. there are plenty of radikal clips with sweeter riding, a lot even from boujmaa) or i want to help them to make better films, or if i want to critizice the imho way too big self-exponation in our days, whatever, i would take my time and then find other words for a person, who grew up under very different circumstances than me… Read more »
Maybe my comment was a bit too harsh. It’s just that I’m a bit sick of all this rhetoric, both in the words and in the editing. All this slo-mo, this overly dramatic soundtrack, these corny off-camera commentary — it’s just self-aggrandizing. I much prefer raw, unedited clips, like the one by Noireaux a few days ago.
Anyway, making this clip was clearly a great work, and if I had a fin-screw of this guy’s talent I’d be set for life 🙂
Love the wide angle wave rides at the end – and did I spot a cheese roll into back loop at some point in the clip?
Yes, you are right. This move is Boujmaa’s invention. Check out Boujmaa training this rotation back in 2010: https://www.continentseven.com/forwardloop-into-backloop-boujmaa-guilloul/
Wow !!
