16 ladies competed at the Mercedes Benz Aloha Classic in powerful mast high swell from western direction – a bigger swell was just about to arrive – and suitable wind conditions at Ho’okipa. Iballa Ruano Moreno, Lina Erpenstein, who competes and windsurfs at Ho’okipa for the first time in her career, Motoko Sato & current PWA wave tour leader Sarah-Quita Offringa made it into the final.

It was a tough battle in between Iballa and Sarah-Quita. Iballa risked a lot, but Sarah-Quita improved her points with the final and third wave ride and won the final with 12.45 points. Iballa had 10.5 points and Matoko Sato 8.5 points. The 2019 title isn’t decided yet. The double elimination will show who will win the title in waves in 2019. Iballa has won 9 PWA titles in waves already and could add the 10th one to her collection. For the Aruban Sarah-Quita Offringa this would be the first title in waves.
