Youp Schmit (NB-12) was really excited to travel to South Africa for the first time in his young career. His homespot Lac Bay at Bonaire offers flat water conditions, light to medium strong winds and warm water temperatures.
In contrast South Africa is well known for its colder water temperatures and rough waves. 17 years old Youp sailed a lot on Rietvlei lake, which delivers strong wind and moderate chop, but he also felt excellent in the open ocean conditions. That´s the way how you prepare for the rough events like Sylt or Lanzarote. Radical action on the lake and at the Atlantic Ocean. Well done Youp!
Super Sick Video!! I like the freestyle on waves it looks Sick !! dunno how you control the board in the waves with a tiny freestyle fin tho :O !!

Jaa youpie… sick video !
Just jealous…
Congratulations Youp ! 🙂
Tilo and Anto are a little bit upset, because after decades of “windsurfing”, they still can’t come out of a jibe planing.
This kid is 17, and performs his moves with enormous explosion and steeze. Keep it up.
haha adrien you’re right, I should really work on my jibes. and the next time I’m giving my teammate lovely nicknames I’m gonna mark the irony for you like that: [irony on]…[ irony off].
Please do. It’ll avoid confusion. Good luck with the jibes! lol.
🙂
