I’m sorry of my negative points but at this moment professional windsurfing have problems. So I think there must be something is going wrong! Craig, why do all the manufacturers release new products every year? Can you say that every single year you make such a good change that requires next stuff? Computers or cars seem to change when there is something new but windsurf equipment changes every year at the same time. Imagine there was a new iphone every August! … I find it hard to take the brands serious. I know I am the NOT only one who… Read more »

Thank you for your responses Craig Just to keep the discussion going: By “taking all the money” I don’t mean just the licensing fee. I mean the small things that the pwa requires that add up to a lot. For example, look at Pozo. The pwa requires hotels and many hire cars. The judges and staff could stay in Pozo instead of hotels. Then they would not need a car too. And right now, all food is covered but it would be better if they had a small food budget (in other industries only half the food is covered because… Read more »

Hi Cam, Positive criticism that can lead to solutions is always good, in any form, agreed. Just to clarify, the 4 riders sitting on the board are sailors repĀ“s, voted in by the complete fleet, they represent the interests of all sailors. The PWA is actively researching new events all the time, you will see a few new ones on next years calender as proof of this. As for Taking all the money – which money do you mean, the pretty modest licensing fees they need to be able to employ minimal back office etc? Unfortunatly this is the problem… Read more »

Craigg, It’s great to see you here supporting the PWA, but as a man and a windsurfer, take a good look at the situation. Throw away any need to support the pwa and tell what you see. The management board is mostly sailors, but as you said its just 4 guys out of the entire fleet (I thought it was more until you said that). And they never seem to make the choices that are good then. We can’t compare to the ASP, true. But we can learn from them. Needing local orgainizers is part of the problem. It means… Read more »

just for the record, the current PWA WAve World Champion and the complete Fanatic Wave team are using Sebastian Wenzel customs and production boards, not Quatros….not saying ours are the best boards, just that we trust our shaper is totally competent in making world cup winning shapes for our riders. As for the PWA Management, there are 4 riders and 3 industry members running the Managment board, so the sailors always have the majority in any decisions. The industry does not own or direct the PWA, we try to support it with sponsoring riders and advising on decisions on rules… Read more »
