Young Japanese wave rider Hayata Ishii – he is only 17 years of age – spent a great time in Taiwan recently. He scored big starboard tack conditions in Zhunan in the region of Miaoli. Zhunan is a spot located at Taiwan’s northwestern coast, where proper swell with wind from northern direction can hit the coast.

Hayata landed big stalled Forwards, Backlogs, Pushloops and Takas just in front of the Formosa Wind Parks nearby Fowi, named after the famous street of Formosa and the former name of Taiwan, where Baron Arnaud de Rosney disappeared during his crossing to China. Hayata even tried double Forwards and had fun while skateboarding on the days without wind.
