Just a day ago MattiaPedrani from Italy released his second Masirah Island (Oman) clip. This time it´s a wave clip! Read some comments by Mattia himself on his trip and what a nice clip!
“Wavesailing in the Sultanate of Oman. That’s the main reason, why I travelled with my family to Masirah island. During the summer months, from June till August, there is an extremely high percentage of strong wind.”
In the end Mattia just had 3 good days with wavesailing conditions.
“The arrival day – fresh off the plane and after 500 km drive and 2 hours on the ferry – and the second day plus a third nice day at Gazebo Point, where the jumps have been shot. This spot is located in the north eastern part of the island. A powerful right breaks there.” Mattia told us.
“The rest of the days we had too offshore wind, almost never planing, and mushy waves. Just consider that the Goiter at 2′ 20″ was made on one of the only 3 waves I was riding on that day: it was like competing in a heat, fully focused, one shot one kill…”
We are surprised a lot about Mattia´s level in the waves. When will you show up at any competitions?

Sweet vid. Takes me back a bit. I used to live out there in the 80’s and 90’s and back in 1990, we took the first windsurfers via a C130 plane with some of the army boys for a sesh! That place goes off. Summer time it blows like mad. Full of big sharks though. From Ras al hadd going south along the coast on the mainland, it is big, mast high and 50 knot winds! Look 4wd to returning one day soon….

As far as competitions go, I actually wanted to try some out but unfortunately there are
no more starboard tack events nor in the PWA nor in the italian tour.
I can kinda wavesail port tack too but not on the same level, so I’ll be endin up last quite surely.
Anyways I’m glad you like the clip. I was kinda worried that it might be a little too repetitive
and i threw away like 15 more takas and 10 more goyters but I think it came out nicely.
