On Friday 24th of June the RED BULL ROCKETS event took place in Las Salinas de Pozo on Gran Canaria. 16 of the best windsurfers in waves were competing for the highest jump, best trick and best wipe-out. Unfortunately the conditions were not as radical as it could be. The measurement of the jumps was determined by a measuring system based on real-time 3D motion tracking technology designed by Epicsessions.tv.
RESULTS
The highest jump of the event was a 11 meter jump executed by the Spaniard Dario Ojeda.
The Best Trick category went to German Philip Köster with a Double Forward Loop in front of Ricardo Campello with also a Double Forward Loop and the third place went to Jonas Ceballos for a very high one handed Backloop.
The Best wipe-out title, we expected nobody else: Ricardo Campello with a one foot, one hand forward over rotated
whatevers. from what I heard, there wasn’t any webcast planned or budget and the epicsesssions guys pulled the live video out of nowhere with no gear or planning. with attitude like that perhapse none would have been better than some????? these guys rock it in remote places so given the fact that they did anything from nothing would be cool given that thay had nothing in pozo to pull it off. if you can do better then perhapse you should be in pozo. no? i met these guys in maui and their total wizards with the tech!
you are so off topic I am sure they are good at what they do, the main organizer is to blame in that story, not even pre advertisement, it looks like a regional event, how come the ASP can put the prime event and the star events online as well as the WCT, windsurf is ridiculous again or worse just ignored!!! Because he brand and sponsors do things half way!!
most of the guys live there or do some trainin 4 the canarian leg of the pwa anyway, but condition were not really suitable anyway
Hello,
this event had no media advertising whatsoever, i didn’t even know there was a livecast, neither C7 or windsurfjournal put a link to it or please proove me wrong. Brand maker must be fuming to have no return at all, nobody will pay the riders to go to an event like this anymore and it won’t be done again next year.
the livecast was really strange
i expected much more from red bull
I was looking for one, and wasn’t able to find it. Hopefully a video will come out soon, would love to see the action. How were the conditions?
will there be a video eventually?? would love to see the wipeouts!!
