Today was the first day of the PWA Colgate World Cup on Sylt. From the 24th September to the 3rd October the wave, slalom, and freestyle sailors will battle for victories and 105.000€ prizemoney. After the registration at around 16.00 the obligatory opening took place at the “Sylter Musikmuschel” and all the sailors where swinging their flags.

In the wave discipline we see a full fleet of 48 sailors. In Slalom are 55 sailors registered. Some big names are missing like Steve Allen, who has back problems. Josh Angulo is as well not here to compete in Slalom. In the girls wave event only 12 girls will start. The freestyle fleet is bigger than last year with 38 registered riders, 9 more than last year.

The wave sailors will already have a very early skippersmeeting at 7:15 tomorrow. There is a slight chance for wind and waves and headjudge Duncan Coombs doesn´t want to miss any good conditions. Unfortunately one of the favourites Victor Fernandez is sick and in bed with high fever. We hope he will recover a bit more until tomorrow.

There will also be live streaming from tomorrow on. So, make sure to watch some action LIVE…We will keep you updated as soon as the live stream is online.
