After 3 long years the wait is over and the most radical windsurfers in the world are competing in Pozo Izquierdo as the Gran Canaria PWA World Cup finally returns between the 9th-17th July. 18 women and 48 men have registered for the competition. In the youth category 29 boys and 8 girls will show their best in the tough conditions of Pozo Izquierdo.
On the third day of the 2022 Gran Canaria Windsurf World Cup the Men’s and Women’s fleets were both hitting the water for the first time in the afternoon. The waves remained relatively small throughout the day, but every so often a little nugget would appear, whilst with winds ranging between 20-30 knots the best wave sailors tried to show their best riding and jumps. Earlier in the day the Youths were also in action. Alexia Kiefer and Tobias Bjornaa were the stars in the juniors, winning the U20 girls and U17 boys respectively.
