Last weekend the One Hour Classic took place from th e10th till the 12th of June at the Circolo Surf Torbola at Lake Garda. The plan was to run a race, which should be held for one hour and the record of Alessandro Comerlati should be broken. 1000 € could be won by the sailor, who could have done a new record. Alessandro made the record back in 1991, when he sailed 16 lenghts on the lake in 1 hour 4 minutes and 35 seconds. But it did not happen in 2011! Read more..

Many big names like Finian Maynard, Julien Quentel, Patrick Diethelm, Karin Jaggi, Marco Begalli, Andrea Rosati showed up at Torbole to battle it out with the local heroes Alberto Menegatti, Andrea Cucchi, Thomas Fauster or Verena Fauster. Overall 57 participants were listed and 36 could finish the race.

They all were unlucky with the wind. They only saw gusty winds from northern direction, which made just a 22 minutes long race possible. Alberto Menegatti (ITA-4) from Torbole could win the race in the men´s category in front of Julien Quentel and local Thomas Fauster. Looks like local knowledge pays off. Karin Jaggi took the victory in the ladies class in front of Verena Fauster. Congratulations! Here is a link to the full result!

Roberto Vuilleumier from Promovideo.tv produced following nice video clip, which gives a good impression on the racing highlight at Lake Garda.
