Finally today the wind came and made 3 Slalom eliminations possible.
Â
In the morning all riders and organization met at Witsands Beach, which is at the Cape peninsula. 3 Slaloms were sailed in 15-20 knots of wind. Most sailors were on 7 and 7.6 sails.
Witsands is normally known as a wavesailing spot but delivered ok Slalom conditions. The big wave sets caused some problems for the sailors at the inside jibing mark, coming back to the beach or going out.
Â
Result:
1. Ross Williams
2. Ben van der Steen
3. Alberto Menegatti
Â
Tomorrow the wavesailors have their skippersmeeting at 8 o’clock at Big Bay and at 10 the Slalom sailors.
