on 13. May, 2013 – 13:18 / 2 Comments

After four slalom eliminations, Gunnar Asmussen can call himself IFCA Slalom World Champion 2013. Gunnar kept the nerves until the end of the competition and won the Championship in front of his fellow countrymen Vincent Langer. The third place goes to the 19 year old Jordy Vonk from Holland.

INTERVIEW WITH THE CHAMP. We caught up with Gunnar for an interview. He was still full of adrenalin and was not really able to concentrate on the questions.

What happened with Ifca wave championship? It would be nice to have it back again. I remember Dany Bruch as a young windsurfer who took ifca wave long time ago.

During the event in Sylt there was also an IFCA meeting. They said, they will not run any classic wave world championships anymore, but they want to do wave events for the younger generation in the near future.
In August they are doing the South American Wave Championships in Pacasmayo in Peru.
