Yenel Caers’s meteoric ascent to one of the best freestyle windsurfers began in 2014. In 2014 he finished the EFPT event at Podersdorf in 5th with minimum gear setup. He just had a 4,8 and the conditions were really light. In 2015 he finished the PWA World Cup on Fuerteventura in 9th (by the way… he not only won against Gollito Estredo) and the EFPT DamX event at Brouwersdam in third, which was his first podium finish. An his rise continues as he finished the first PWA event in Austria in 6th position in the beginning of May 2016. Time will tell, if he will be the third Freestyle World Champ from Belgium.
