The most important winter windsurfing event this winter will take place in KALAJOKI, Finland from the 18th until the 21st of March. The Winter Windsurfing European Open Championships are organized by Kallan Purjehtijatry in cooperation with Rautio Sports and WinterWindsurf.com with support of several great companies like Rip Curl, Keskipohjanmaa, Hiberna, Autotalo Anttiroiko, JOY-tuotanto, Dyyni Dance bar.

Far not all competing windsurfers have had the chance to race against each other in local competitions and European Cup events (WWEC 2010). Therefore the end of the season is the right time to highlight the Champions of this year. The leaders of this season will try to defend their positions, but others will have a chance for a beautiful revanche on the last event of the season.

There will be competitions in two winter windsurfing disciplines, short track slalom (STS) and course racing. Registration starts at 12AM on March 18 and the first possible start is the same day at 3PM. There will be 3 racing days and Sunday, March 21, is left as a reserve day. The prize giving ceremony is planned on Saturday evening at 10PM.

Registration for the participants is open already since the end of February at the official WW European Open homepage. A number of racers from Finland, Lithuania and Latvia have already confirmed their participation.
