@Julien Mas must have seen that few weeks before the PWA Bonaiere!
@Bianca: I´m happy to hear that you´re interested in windskating! I´ve never been in Capetown, but there should be plenty of wind, maybe often too much for windskating. I do this sometimes in windgusts up to 5-6 Bft. However, the “perfect” wind for windskating is in a range from 2 to 4 Bft. For beginners especially it´s much saver to do it in relatively light wind condtions and without straps. If the wind is strong I prefer to do windsurfing (if there is water nearby 😉 ) Sail for windskating: I use my windsurf-sail and a old boom which is… Read more »
@Guy Trudeau: Thanks a lot for the compliment! 🙂 Yes I learned quite all moves on land first (Except Kono-Tricks and spinloop.. wait, I even “windskate-spinloop-training” on a blow-up mattress some years ago 😉 ) Going full speed into tricks is always pure adrenaline. However, at the beginning I went with lower speed and learned step by step all the tricks.. And I stayed save (not a single injury) until now. I always enjoy watching your windskate-videos! I thnk they inspired me a little to construct my new Board: mountainboard with longboard wheels. Works fantastic and I´ll work on it… Read more »
Hi,
im interested to get into the windskate sport.
unfortunately im situated in cape town, south Africa where extreme sport shops don’t stock for the windskate sport discipline. Cape Town can be really windy so wind strength isn’t a problem but im struggling to find information regarding the type of board and sail a beginner rider would use.
for a beginner which sail and board would you recommend?
since i cannot buy locally, im prepared to order it online.
would you suggest buying a windskate new or second hand and between which price range should i be on the lookout?
Nice Mister Anton! I saw your video on the beach, awesome! Doing trick like that might be enought crazy to get some good adrenaline I guess? You learn all those move on land or water? On land I guess. Like you say, have fun and stay save! 🙂
