I’ve been in Australia for 4 weeks now and it has been absolutely amazing. After getting a van what took us around a week, I still scored some amazing sessions in between at spots in and around Perth. With everything arranged me and my girlfriend Jolanda left Perth and started travelling up north with just a few stops. We pretty much ended straight up in Geraldton.

Geraldton is my favorite place in Western Australia as it’s one of the most windy one along WA’s coast. Besides that you have the spot, called Coronation, where I have everything I want from a spot. Flat water with little ramps on the inside and some nice waves in the back allowing me to freestyle and wave riding on just one place. We actually had some really windy days on 3.7m and I mainly sailed on my wave board. I’m trying to improve my jumping a bit more and actually landed my first front side wave360. So I was pretty stoked with that. Besides training hard on my freestyle tricks I’ve also been testing the new Freek for 2015 together with Ben Severne, which is a lot of fun and a great experience. My parents just arrived in Perth. They will stay for 3 weeks. We will try to make a big trip with them to show them as much as possible of WA. Besides that another 6 weeks of sailing are planned and of course the Lancelin Classic is on my agenda to start off the year with a competition. After Australia I will try to fly a.s.a.p. to Bonaire to fully concentrate on my Freestyle training and get ready for 2014!
