Thomas Traversa did this nice Wave Grubby during the PWA event in Cabezo (Tenerife) this year. Basically this version is a normal Grubby technique, whereas the “Reverse/Campello” has no air time and is initiated by an active turn. The board stays always on the water. On the other hand the “Hangover” is a Wave Grubby, in the air and off the lip.
Watch the variations of the move:
- Reverse or Campello by Ricardo Campello
- Reverse or Campello by Philip Köster
- Hangover by Thomas Traversa
- Hangover by Graham Ezzy

WORD
I`m sailing now at Canaries and can tell you that all on shore riding should be taken as a freestyle it is not a wave riding at all! jumpin – Yes you can go high. Riding – Ponta Preta and alike.
I totally agree with you Thomas, not because you are pro posting here, but because what you say is logical. Implication is that PWA should have really experienced wave rider for judging wave events.
What harness is Thomas using? It that a simmer?
