Fanatic Addicted to Ride producer Carl Nyberg produced a special “Tribute Victory Teaser” to honour the new Fanatic/North Sails PWA Wave World Champ 2010. After many years of winning single events on the PWA tour and vice titles in 2007 and 2008 26 years old Victor Fernandez Lopez from Almeria, Spain could win the PWA wave title in 2010. After an early out in the single elimination at Klitmoller we saw an impressive comeback in the double. He made it back in second position, what has been a proof for his consistency and strength in 2010. While the past 7 years Victor always was in the top rankings of the PWA wave tour, could win the Pozo Izquierdo event several times and definitely deserves the title finally. Victor is also one of the few guys, who can land double forward loops almost 100 % while his heats.
Watch the clip with a lot of footage from Maui Hawaii!
Victor is cool. But I fully agree with tam tam-riding on german equipment takes out the joy and fuzz and spirit of riding. The waves dont like the designs. Perfect, precise but no spirit. (Like a VW). At least he should have stuck to Simmer (they know how to make sails}.
By the way, are the producers of the film afraid of showing Victor in his early days on Simmer sails. It is with that brand that Victor started emerging as a force. Or is it this corporate bullshit way of thinking again and again….
I agree that his technique is great, I also love this 1-h table top, but if you think that this is super cool than you should quickly turn Jason Polakow-About Time on… Then you will see what super cool looks like
After an early out in the single elimination at Klit, not Sylt:)
In THIS KIND OF WAVE TOUR that we have seen this season he was the best…… . Bad luck that Cabo didnt hit the righ conditions this year. The final fight for top 3 could be so much interesting.
for sure he is a super cool guy….
for sure he can do all the moves perfectly …
for sure he is the world champion …
for sure using that “full fluo color german gear ” ….
he will never get “the style” ;-)) !
ola Victor , en nombre y de hecho
