Current vice wave World champion Victor Fernandez spent a few weeks on the island of Sal in November 2024. He got brilliant conditions at Ponta Preta and enjoyed riding the super glassy waves at the world class point break on Sal. His riding looks super smooth and he lands brilliant Takas and Aerials! Thumbs up! It looks like his is fully up for another World title campaign in 2025.
Cape Verde is one of my top three favorite places to Windsurf in the World and I feel lucky to spent a lot of time in these incredible waves. These edits are from Ponta Preta, a perfect right-handed well-known in the windsurfing world, it is a clean barreling wave that breaks very close to rocks in all sections and ends with a heavy, short break.
