What happened until now?
Slalom X
After four slalom eliminations, Frenchman Pierre Mortefon, fresh off his victory at the high-wind event in Fuerteventura, leads the rankings ahead of Amado Vrieswijk from Bonaire. Dutch racer Jordy Vonk, back in action after a crash in Fuerteventura, currently holds third, with Matteo Iachino in fourth and Maciek Rutkowski in fifth, both pushing hard to break into the top three.
Wave
The wave single elimination of the men is almost completed. Only 8 men are left, who can win the single elimination: Philip Köster, Marc Pare, Marcilio Browne, Miguel Chapuis, Liam Dunkerbeck, Marino Gil, Antoine Martin & Victor Fernandez
The women completed the first round of the single elimination. So, there are still 16 competitors, who can make it to the top spots.
However, the weather conditions remain challenging, as the typical trade winds for this time of year are currently unstable and inconsistent. Right now it is pretty hot on the Canaries, which also can influence the trade winds.
