With this heat Steven van Broeckhoven won the 2019 PWA Fuerteventura World Cup at Sotavento in front of Yentel Caers and Jacopo Testa.

Steven seemed to be extremely focused in his final. A dream came true for the 33 year-old Belgian, who went through hard times with injuries and lack of sponsors. This year, in 2019, he feels really fit and he can go big in all his heats. He already performed well in the EFPT events in the previous months, won the Super-X show event in Lanzarote and now dominated the PWA freestyle event in Fuerteventura.

“I was really focused. I was using my brain as much as I could. It was about being in the right place at the right time. I was on 4.8m fulyl powered and the board was flying over the water. My tactics were just to stay calm and use the conditions as they were. I managed to do a Shifty and I shoot out planing of it.”

Right after the winners final we caught up with Steven for some words about his victory and heat.
