Dakar, Senegal, 22.2.2012. Sarah Hebert began her adventure to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a windsurfing board. 4000km and 25 days later she wants to be on the island of Guadeloupe. Sarah Hebert is followed by an escort boat for her full security and she stops at night to sleep on the boat. Each time Sarah sets foot on her board, she carries with her something that sets her apart from the crowd: an implantable Boston Scientific defibrillator. Boston Scientific is also the main sponsor of this project. In 2006 while undergoing a routine medical examination, Sarah’s doctors discovered she had a heart rhythm disorder and recommended an implantable defibrillator. A defibrillator is a life-saving machine that gives the heart an electric shock in some cases of cardiac arrest.
Sarah: “I want to especially send a strong message : all dreams are possible despite the difficulties of life, because With the heart anything is possible!”
