France has its own radical stand-by wave tour since 2014. In cooperation with Rip Curl Jean Baptiste Caste presents a tour, which gathers almost all top names from France. Young upcoming sailors like Philippe Mesmeur, top PWA riders like Thomas Traversa, Antony Ruenes, Jules Denel, Julien Quentel or older experienced riders like Bruno Andre, Nicolas Reynes, Julien Taboulet or Régis Bouron. 7 competitions on various spot in France are planned. The plan is to run the events during weekends on a stand-by level. On the weekend March 22nd and 23rd the conditions were definitely on and the Rip Curl Windsurfing Pro Tour 2014 was held at L’île aux Vaches, Baie d’Audierne, Brittany with most of the top French wave sailors competing.

The first event at saw great swell and offshore wind. Thomas Traversa, Red Bull Storm Chase winner, won the event, defeating his good friend JB Caste in the final. Watch a fantastic 12 minutes long clip. All the statements are in French language, but the waves and the wind are self-explanatory.
