On day 4 of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sylt PWA Grand Slam the wind came back and allowed an excellent freestyle show. Mr. Double Air Culo Amado Vrieswijk won the winners final with the high score of the day (167.5) against Gollito Estredo. In the battle for 3rd and 4th place, Dieter Van der Eyken secured the final place on the podium after defeating Adrien Bosson.

- Sylt saw some of the best conditions for freestyle ever. Some riders mentioned that the conditions were a bit like in Brazil.
- 32 heats got completed on day 4, 17 or 18 heats are missing to complete the double elimination.
- If Amado Vrieswijk wins the event, he will be the 2016 PWA Freestyle Champion.
- Gollito Estredo will need to defeat Vrieswijk twice in the double elimination to win another PWA Freestyle title.
- Amado Vrieswijk had a scare against Nico Akgazciyan, who almost kicked out Amado. Nico’s clean Push Loop was just a few seconds too late.
- Dieter van der Eyken had his best performance in a single elimination in 2016. Again, like in Fuerteventura it was a close deal against Gollito, who beat him and made it into the winners final
- Davy Scheffers landed a Shifty on star board tack – he is probably the only rider who lands this move on this tack and got rewarded with 20 points by the judges in the heat against Amado Vriewsijk. Davy Scheffers missed to collect enough points on port tack and lost in the end.
- Steven van Broeckhoven had a good heat but lost against a very strong sailing Sam Esteve.
- Thomas Traversa won against Max Matissek in the first round of the double elimination and demonstrated his versatility once again. He landed a regular Chacho or a clean Tucan
