Day 1 (April 29) of the PWA Surf Worlcup  saw excellent wind during the morning hours. By the time the registration and first skippers meeting were finished and the competition got started, the wind became more and more patchy. Unfortunately only one heat saw a valid result with Nick van Ingen and Giovanni Passani advancing into the next round. After this heat the wind dropped more and more and after some hours of waiting the riders got released.

Day 2 (April 30) was calm during the day. At 5pm the first tow-in qualifying round of the Chiemsee European Tow-in Championship was on. Tonky Frans, local hero Max Matissek and Marco Lufen qualified for the final. A few minutes after 7 pm a squall arrived at Podersdorf and brought wind for 4,8 m sails. Two more heats of the first round got completed. The Italian Mattia Fabrizi defeated Yarden Meir from Israel, French Julien Mas won with an excellent heat against Jamie Howard from the UK, young French talent Sam Esteve won against Swiss Loick Spicher and Adam Sims from UK won against Russian Yegor Popretinskiy.

Day 3 (May 1) was a public holiday in Austria and the start into a long weekend. The wind was calm and the two remaining qualifying rounds of the Chiemsee European Tow-in Championships were held. 6 times freestyle world champion Gollito Estredo had the highest score of the day with a Flaka Shaka Flaka combination. Davy Scheffers won the other qualifying round. Taty Frans, Julien Mas, Kiri Thode and Adam Sims made it into the top ten, too and Antoine Albert was the lucky loser, who got the last place in the final on May 3.

Day 4 (May 2) was a nice sunny day on the beach of Podersdorf. Many people showed up to watch the predicted freestyle action. The north westerly wind picked up around 11 am as forecasted, but was extremely unstable, up and down and did not allow any valid heat results. The heat of local Max Matissek vs Austrian Paul Simmerl, Nic Hibdidge vs Romain Pinocheau was started 4 times and got cancelled each time. Local Max Matissek presented his first picture and the making of clip of his new film project “True Wind” at 7pm, windsurfing below the earth in Vienna.

Day 5 (May 3) no wind. Kiri Thode won the final of the Chiemsee European Tow-In Championship with a Double Culo. Tonky Frans got second and Adam Sims 3rd.
