Sarah-Quita Offringa wins the first PWA Slalom of the year. Unfortunatley no result in the men’s division.

Sarah-Quita Offringa: “Starting of the season with a win feels great!! Although it was just one race, that still made it tough. No errors are allowed. The day that we raced it was so hard to choose the right gear as the wind was gusting between 15-25 knots. But I made the right decision and sailed my 7,0 and 107 in the final. I had a great start but Lena was catching up on me on the first leg, however I made quite a good jibe and after that managed to get away from the pack and finish in ahead of Lena Erdil and Marion Mortefon. The top five looks a bit different with Esther and Maëlle Guilbaud in 4th and 5th which i think is cool! Now we’re off to Japan,I’ve heard a lot of stories and can’t wait to see it all for my self!”

After 4 days of waiting the typical wind at Jinha Beach, South Korea kicked in on day 5, the penultimate day of the event. Sarah-Quita Offringa made the perfect start to her title defence as she led from start to finish in the one elimination completed and she’ll be happy to have escaped the tricky conditions with victory heading into the next event in Japan. Last year’s winner in Korea Lena Erdil made it in second and Marion Mortefon in third.

The men’s elimination got started as well but could not be finished due to the dropping wind. The final day 6 saw not enough wind to complete the men’s final. Matteo Iachino, Julien Quentel, Marco Lang and Cyril Moussilmani qualified for the winners final, but the conditions weren’t suitable to complete the final. The men have no result in Jinha in 2017.
