The fourth day of the PWA Fuerteventura event saw great slalom conditions at Sotavento with wind blowing in between 15 and 30 knots for the whole day. In the end it was Finian Maynard, who dominated  the day with two victories and one third place.

Slalom action

The 51 competitors used sailsizes from 5,6 up to 7,8m2 and were almost the whole day on their smallest boards. The racecrew ran 3 full eliminations. Finian Maynard started great and had immense speed around the whole race course plus he jibed excellent. Finian won elimination 3 and 4. Antoine Albeau took the victory in elimination 2. It will be  a tough fight on the final day as the top three ranked sailors Maynard, Van der Steen and Albeau are just within 5,3 points. Today Björn Dunkerbeck made a massive fault as he missed his first round heat in elimination 4.

The forecast for tomorrow, the final day of the Slalom at the PWA Fuerteventura Worldcup looks excellent. The plan is to run again three more rounds to have a second discard.
