Yesterday was the first day of the PWA Fuerteventura Grand Slam. From today until the 27th July the freestyle windsurfers will battle it out and from the 28th on, it is the turn of the Slalom sailors. In total 45 men and 8 women have signed up for the freestyle competition. The PWA will provide an daily live stream from the beach of Sotavento, where you can follow the action from wherever you are. The commentator for the freestyle competition will be the Canadian competitor Phil Soltysiak.
The wind forecast for the upcoming days of the event is not the best. As well the day yesterday started with clouds and no wind. As the sky cleared up, the wind came in the late afternoon and still the riders performed nice moves on the water.
