The El Médano Windsurf Grand Slam 2025 has started at El Cabezo Beach!

From August 1 to 10, El Cabezo Beach is hosting the Playa Surf CBbC Hotel Tenerife El Médano Windsurf Grand Slam. 24 women and 48 men are competing in the prestigious 5-star wave event, which is part of the unified PWA x IWT World Tour. In the Slalom-X discipline – marking the return of racing to Tenerife after nearly 30 years – 20 men are battling it out for the world title.

What happened until now?

Wave
Sarah-Quita Offringa and Marc Pare are the winners of the wave single eliminations.

Marc Pare, the last year’s Tenerife winner, wins the single elimination. His fellow countryman Victor Fernandez finished in second position. He was second in the 2024 competition, too. Gran Canaria hot shot Marino Gil completes the podium. Multiple World Champion Marcilio Browne sits actually in 4th position.

In the ladies fleet Sarah-Quita Offringa wins the single elimination ahead of Alexia Kiefer Quintana, Sol Degrieck and Line Bang Wittrup in 4th place.

The Double Eliminations have started but are not finished yet.

Slalom X
Pierre Mortefon, wins the second Slalom X event, too, after his victory at the high-wind event in Fuerteventura. So, the Frenchmen successfully defended his Slalom X world title to be crowned world champion for a fourth time in front of Matteo Iachino and Jordy Vonk.

Amado Vrieswijk from Bonaire finished the event in Tenerife in second and Dutch racer Jordy Vonk completes the podium in Tenerife.

Today is the final day of the event. It does not look to promising to finish the Double Elimination.
