Irish wave sailor Mikey Clancy put some footage from his first event back on the PWA worldtour since his aweful injury back in autumn 2009, which stopped his career a bit. Before this event he only participated in the Fuerte Wave Classic and on British Tour.

“Visiting the hospital the other day the doctors believed that I had done the impossible in what I had achieved in such a short period of time with my newly fused ankle after my serious ankle injury in late 2009. They were amazed that I could even windsurf let alone compete at the highest level.” (Mikey Clancy)

For me Pozo was an event I wasn’t overly prepared for as I hadn’t even consider make such a recovery. I only started land forwards on port tack in march at the BWA event. So when I went for my first Double Forward loop in two years and landed it I was stoked and that made my trip no matter what happened in the competition.

Back home in Ireland Mikey is training hard and waiting for the swell and wind to start rolling in. Mikey stated: “Unfortunately I am not able to make the final two event on the tour in Denmark, Klitmöller and Germany-Sylt, Westerland, but I am already preparing for the next season in 2012 to be better than ever before!”
