Levi Lenz and Ian Mouro Lemos spent a great time together on Maui in April and sailed at Ho’okipa and Jaws in great conditions. Both of them normally sail at Jericoacoara or other spots in northern Brazil. In the past they were much into the Freestyle discipline. Ian sailed several years for JP-Australia and NeilPryde. When he was 16 he was announced as the new Ricardo Campello. He had great results. His last season on tour he finished in 13th overall with a 9th a Lanzarote. After 2011 he decided to stop competing on tour and now he changed to Goya.
Levi travelled a lot with his Brazilian friends on the PWA World Tour, never really had sponsors from the industry, participated in several Freestyle events and was doing well in this young discipline, but always had an eye on the waves. Despite a 13th place in Aruba 2011 he quit the PWA tour, too. Now, in 2013, they both decided to travel to Maui and sail in real waves. They filmed each other. Kevin Pritchard and Theo Reynal added some footage for the clip.
Levi Lenz about the trip to Maui, Hawaii: “I was in Maui this year for 5 months, from January until beginning of May. Ian got there in April and we started to film when he got there! First day that he arrived we had a Jaws session. Ian was 2 years without taking any big waves and so he decided to film. And I got someone to film my second day at Jaws! It was super fun!! The rest of the month was not like usual, this year we didn’t had a whole month with wind and waves.. but we had some great days, and we filmed on some of them! “
They show world class action at Ho’okipa and Jaws in the video. Powerful turns, Aerials, Air Takas, Floaters, big Back Loops, perfect double Forwards. All moves are performed with a lot of style and a great timing. Just nice to watch!! Big respect Levi and Mouro. Keep on ripping that radical, boys!!
