On Saturday July 5 the 2025 Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf Worldcup started. From the 5th-13th July some of the world’s best waves windsurfers will battle for the places on the prestige podium.
Today is the penultimate day of the event.
What happened until now?
Philip Köster wins the 2025 Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf World Cup. He is claiming his eighth event title in Gran Canaria. Marcilio Browne finished in second and was pushing Köster all the way to a super final. Marino Gil completes the podium, which means that is his third year in a row at his home event on the podium.
On day 3, July 7, it was the turn of the women fleet. Daida Moreno wins the single elimination in front of Sarah-Quita Offringa and Sol Degrieck.
On day 4, July 8, the youth competition got started. The U13 Boy’s and U15 Boy’s and Girl’s hit the water for the first time this week. Dennis Kolb Gonzalez won both finals in the U13 Boys category. And Trine Gobisch won both finals in the U15 Girls division.
On day 5, July 9, was a bit of wind but there were not many waves. No competition.
On day 6, July 10, was the day of the youth. Sol Degrieck claimed the U18 girls title. Peter Gobisch leads in the U18 boys and Yannick Kolb Gonzalez leads the U15 boys. The masters men started their competition, too.
On day 7, July 11, the masters single elimination got completed.
It’s July 12, day 8 at the Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf World Cup 2025. The conditions are full on with stormy wind during the morning hours and 50+ knots gusts. Javier Escribano from Tarife won the U18 boys competition against German Peter Gobisch in an all deciding final. Local Carlos Kiefer -Quintana defeated the Greek Gregory Stathopoulos twice – he was riding on a 2.8m and 3.4m – and won the U21 men competition in the super final. After the youth competition, the women’s double elimination got completed. After an exciting super final between Daida Moreno and Sarah-Quita Offringa, it is Daida Moreno who wins the women competition in front of Sarah-Quita Offringa and Alexia Kiefer Quintana.
