On Saturday July 5 the 2025 Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf Worldcup started. From the 5th-13th July some of the world’s best waves windsurfers will battle for the places on the prestige podium.
What happened until now?
Philip Köster wins the 2025 Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf World Cup. He is claiming his eighth event title in Gran Canaria. Marcilio Browne finished in second and was pushing Köster all the way to a super final. Marino Gil completes the podium, which means that is his third year in a row at his home event on the podium.
On day 3, July 7, it was the turn of the women fleet. Daida Moreno wins the single elimination in front of Sarah-Quita Offringa and Sol Degrieck. The double elimination is not completed.
On day 4, July 8, the youth competition got started. The U13 Boy’s and U15 Boy’s and Girl’s hit the water for the first time this week. Dennis Kolb Gonzalez won both finals in the U13 Boys category. The Boy’s U15 division is not completed yet. And Trine Gobisch won both finals in the U15 division.
On day 5, July 9, was a bit of wind but there were not many waves. The women and masters fleet were released for today. Meanwhile you could follow the next generation conquering the bay of Pozo Izquierdo.
Today, on day 6, July 10, is the day of the youth. They can show their best wave rides and jumps in 12 minutes long heats. Sol Degrieck claims the U18 girls title. Peter Gobisch leads in the U18 boys and Yannick Kolb Gonzalez leads the U15 boys. The masters men have started their competition, too.
