Katie McAnena is a full time doctor in a hospital in Ireland, works up to 70hours per week and tries to get on the water as often as possible. Katie told us:  “I’m working 70hours most weeks and trying to train and compete in my spare time. I’ve been doing the Irish events and the stops on the American Windsurfing Tour.” In February Katie won the ladies event at the AWT Cabo Verde Pro and she will be off to Santa Cruz next month for the next AWT event. “Can’t wait! I’m also training and competing in SUP….. So I’m crazy busy. I’m still loving travelling the world (I’m just back from the Starboard photo shoot on Maui), but there’s no place like home! Ireland is still my favourite combo of wind, waves, green and awesome people.”
Just recently Katie scored some big waves at Magheroarty in north west Donegal, which is one of her favorite spots for windsurfing in Ireland. Filmed by Finn Mullen
