French wave windsurfing pro Jules Denel, who lives in Wissant, travelled to Sal in Cabo Verde, together with some friends. He saw a great forecast and decided to travel there to score the conditions. And it paid off. The conditions were just insane. Jules was on a 83 liter Thruster and a 5.0m sail. It’s not so easy to get a good the combination of wind and waves. Several times windsurfers travelled to the island of Sal and sat 3 weeks in the sun without any wind or any waves.
“It was really technical because the wind blew really off shore and was very light, but when I was on the wave it felt completely insane. I broke a mast and a sail, like always there, haha. We had one really big day.” (Jules Denel)
