Jack Shead (24) is a passionate windsurfer and windsurfing instructor, who spent his 4th summer in Vassiliki, island of Lefkada, Greece. Unfortunately the end of the summer season in Vassiliki almost here but Jack, who is from Southend on Sea in England, got plenty of good sessions and edited a clip with some of his best action and crashes.

“I love the cross between frustration and satisfaction of learning a new trick. The feeling cannot be beaten and it is always nice to give and learn tips from the people around you so everyone can progress as much as possible.”

Jack Shead: “My interest in watersports originally came from Dinghy sailing in my hometown, Southend on Sea, which lead me to becoming a powerboat and sailing instructor and working for Sunsail in 2013. The summer after that I moved to the island of Lefkada and discovered windsurfing in Vassiliki with Ocean Elements and this is where I fell in love with the sport, and have been windsurfing more or less everyday since! Vassiliki, with its crazy katabatic winds, is a great place where you always have a constant change of people in the town and with over 6 windsurf centers there are plenty of staff who become lifelong friends! I am 24 now and have called Lefkada my home now for the past 4 years. Vass is also famous for its freestyle, and the influence has injected my passion for this side of windsurfing. I love the cross between frustration and satisfaction of learning a new trick. The feeling cannot be beaten and it is always nice to give and learn tips from the people around you so everyone can progress as much as possible. In the winter when I am not in the UK I have travelled to Dahab or Cape Verde to continue practising my freestyle when the English winter gets too cold and too calm!”
