The 2019 IWT Pacasmayo Classic in Peru had excellent conditions. Maria Andres and Morgan Noireaux won the pro categories of women and men. Here’s the video from the event produced by Amanda Beenen.
Once again, Peru delivers with amazing conditions. The battle for the 2019 IWT Wave crown really heats up with these results. With Morgan Noireaux taking the first place here, he is now catching up with Antoine Martin, who took a second place and missed his chance to secure the title before The Aloha Classic (Oct 27-Nov 9, Ho’okipa, Maui, Hawai’i). Ho’okipa with the Aloha Classic will be the perfect arena for these two to battle for the 2019 IWT title. But Antoine is in the way better position as Morgan, who definitely needs a top result in Maui. He needs a second or a first place. But he is definitely capable of as he has won the Aloha Classic several times. He won the prestigious wave event in 2014, 2015 & 2017. In the battle for 3rd and 4th Takara Ishii from Japan took down Camille Juban, the 2018 Aloha Classic winner.

In the women’s draw things got really interesting as Maria Andres from Spain took the first place in an overwhelming performance during the final. This victory puts her in the lead of the tear. Arrianne Aukes slipped to 2nd overall. The Dutch rider fought to keep her number one position, but in the end Maria showed better skills in the critical sections of the waves. The chance to win the title is still alive for Arrianne, who is just 2000 points behind the Spaniard. In the Pacasmayo ranking Arrianne was left with a third place after former tour champion Sarah Hauser managed to make it in 2nd place with a good last wave in the Pro Women’s final. With that buzzer beater she managed to overtake Arrianne in points, but it wasn’t quite enough to knock down Maria from the big podium, taking a second place here at Pacasmayo. Maria is the only woman, who already won two events this season.
