WOMEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPSÂ
The big favourites for the ladies worldtitle are current PWA slalom leader Karin Jaggi (SUI-44) and Delphine Cousin (FRA-775). On the first day four races were completed in 20 to 25 knots offshore conditions. Delphine Cousin took the first win in elimination 1, but Karin Jaggi found back her usual form and took the next three victories. Marianne Kaplas from Finland (FIN-13), who recently had some great training sessions in Rhodos (Greece), took a couple of second places and occupies the third place at the moment. Ranked fourth is Lena Erdil from Bodrum, Turkey and fifth is Cagla Kubat from Alacati, Turkey.Â
MEN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Several top names from the PWA are on the entry list like Questel, Kozanoglu, Diethelm, Rutkowski, Dagan and Arnon Dagan. After one completed round Arnon Dagan (ISR-1) came out at the top of the leaderboard, followed by Matteo Iachino (ITA-140) and Maciek Rutkowski (POL-23) in third place. The second elimination got started as well, but the 20-25 knots offshore wind dropped before the men were able to complete the final. But again almost all big names made it into the final: Dagan, Iachino, Rutkowski, Diethelm, Mortefon, Questel, Warembourg, Denel. The first race of day 2 will be the men´s final.
