From the 27th till the 29th of May the German Freestyle Battle took place on the North Sea island of Norderney. 23 freestyle windsurfers from Germany were registered for this event. This island is known for consistent wind conditions. The organizers have extended the waiting period for this event and it paid off. The freestyle conditions were excellent, the windconditions were perfect for sailsizes for 4,2 to 5,0. Mathias Genkel could win the event in front of Malte Hecht. Tobias Schwarz came in third, followed by Felix Söder.
