This year is the 25th anniversary of the Fuerteventura Grand Slam, which takes place from the 23rd of July until the 2nd of August at Sotavento Beach, Fuerteventura. From the 23rd until the 28th the Slalom sailors will fight for the podium and afterwards it is the turn of the freestyle sailors.
Today was the first day of the event, which started with the registration for the Slalom sailors at 13.00. Already today, the event tent on the beach was filled up with spectators and fans.
At the moment Antoine Albeau and Björn Dunkerbeck have the same points with one eventvictory and a second place each. They are leading the PWA Slalom ranking in front of Micah Buzianis, Jimmy Diaz, Sylvain Moussilmani and Cyril Moussilmani. You can check out the current Slalom ranking on the PWA site here.
The windforecast for tomorrow is looking good and we can expect some Slalom action. But before that, the riders have to attend the official opening today in the evening at 21:30.
