French Wave Windsurfing Championships in the Normandy – Videos

French Wave Championships 2021 (Championnat de France Funboard Vague 2021), Plage de Siouville – Hague, November 27 and 28, 2021

3 ladies and 22 men participated in the event in late November. It was a real storm riding championship (quite similar with storm-chase conditions), organized by the Pole Nautique Hague at the beach of Siouville – Hague in the north-western Normandy.

Marine Hunter won the ladies competition and Thomas Traversa, who defeated Jules Denel in the final, won the category of the men. Yann Sorlut completed the podium.

The conditions were really tough and the riders were on their small equipment. They braved the elements when a strong storm from northern direction hit Plage de Siouville – Hague and they still landed radical air moves in the white water section or even further outside in the breaking waves. The wave riding looked wild in the stormy sea, but Thomas Traversa or Antoine Albert still managed to land difficult moves off the waves. Here’s a video from the first event day, November 27, 2021.
