Despite the initial low-wind forecast and anticipated lay-day, the 3rd day at the FPT Paros delivered surprise competition in an unexpected format – a return of the Super X, featuring some of the best freestyle riders in the world! Competing on freestyle windsurfing equipment in the Super X discipline definitely makes sense and has a lot of potential for the public. No deep water is needed. Not a lot of equipment is need. The fun factor is up and the difficulties can vary depending on the individual fleet skills.

The competition was run in two fleets. The 9 riders had to run to the beach, grabbed their gear, did a beach start, speeded up, landed one move on starboard tack, moved around a big mark with a move and returned towards the beach doing a third move. Again Lennart Neubauer was the quickest in all three rounds. He decided to go for the 5.2m sail to create good pace. Yentel Caers made it in second and landed rad moves, even on the beach. Adam Sims, probably the most experienced rider in the entire fleet, managed to make it in 3rd position. Well done boys!!

A large crowd gathered on the beach as the crazy action commenced and the riders sprinted off onto the beach and chaos ensued on the water, with all riders running into the water and taking off side by side racing off to the mark. The move at the mark is where things got chaotic, with riders crashing next to one another as the field pushed through and returned to the beach. The final sprints back from the beach to the event site were also decisive, as multiple position changes also happened after the riders had already dismounted their gear. FPT media stated
