That looks nice in control. However, the last 1-2 years I wondered why this kind of sideways forward loop is jugdes higher than the vertical one. I am really interested how all of you think about it. I think Victor can handle a discussion about this topic. He does forwards like the one above to get bit warm. So, my point of view is the following. The vertical forward is a lot more difficult to land, both for board and body. It gives a lot, really a lot more adrenalin, because of the real vertical rotation with your body really… Read more »
seems to me that vertical foward loop are not recommended because it’s dangerous especially if you go high. and if you want to do doubles you’ll need a lateral rotation first
A more horizontal forward is tecnically more difficult than a vertical one, ist looks better and also feels better in the air. If you do a forwardloop vertical and the mast does not touch the water in the middle of the rotation, the rotation energy adds to the falling energy. This leads to a lot of injuries like broken ankles, broken ligaments in knees or breaking bones like tibia or fibula. Anyone can do a high forwardloop vertical, only if you have control and you know how to use the leverage of the sail and the board well you can… Read more »
