Florian “Flo” Jung, German wave rider, tries the first Starboard Eco Board Prototypes made out of Balsa wood. The development of this board is part of the Ecoboard project from Starboard and Flo tested the boards in challenging conditions in South Africa.

Starboard: “The Ecoboard Project was started with one objective in mind: to be as energy efficient as possible. This starts by using raw materials that have a lower carbon footprint than those used today but with equal or improved mechanical properties. By being one of the fastest growing trees, Balsa wood could be one of the solutions to reach this objective. Ecoboard Project ambassador Florian Jung has been testing these materials for the last few weeks in South Africa. More from him below in the video.”
