While registrations are still open, the organisers are looking forward to see great freestyle windsurfing action and exciting battles on the EFE this year! The event will start on the 29th of October at Six Four les Plages in the South of France. It´s definitely a venue, which can see extremely nice wind and wave conditions.

The favourites
Overall (wave and freestyle) winner of the 2010 EFE edition, the local boy Adrien Bosson is currently in Brazil training hard to be able to defend his title this year as well. Winner of the overall 2009 EFE, who got injured last year and missed out the freestyle discipline, Vincent Mellouet from Grenoble has not said its last word and never missed out an opportunity to show off his latest freestyle and waves skills. Bastien Rama and Julien Mas will be ready to fight for the topspots on the podium. Julien, who trained in Bonaire for several weeks and also accomplished a superb first season on the PWA Freestyle World Tour with his World Tour ranking at number 18 this year (on a list of more than 60 riders) simply seems more than ready this season. He recently proofed his extremely high skills at the tow in super sessions at the PWA final on Sylt.
Already registered and also a rider to watch out for, Manu Canepa Mr. Dangerous, who achieved a nice third place at the EFE “National Rankings” last year. Probably the biggest name on the current entry list is Antony Ruenes, ranked number 7 on the PWA Freestyle World Tour 2011.
Top Italians have already registered as well: Mattia Fabrizzi and Filippo Bestetti are already on the list. Fabrizzi recently got crowned Italian Freestyle champion.
There are a few youngsters, who will make it to France: German Valentin Böckler (U 20 years EFPKT Tour winner 2010), the Dutch Tym Ruyssenars (EFE 2010/ EFPKT Tour winner in 2010) in the category U 17 years, the local talent Paco Mercader and Steven Max, who will travel from the island of Aruba to Six Fours les Plages. Steven Max will travel with his mother to France. Loïck Lesauvage, the best young local kid, will try to challenge the talent from Aruba.
The Wave competition
For sure everybody hopes that the “Mistral” wind and the Mediterranean Sea will provide at least 1 day of excellent conditions. The event saw 50 participants in 2011 and the organization a radical show on the spot of la Coudoulière. “We also can expect serious battles in this discipline, between locals and “guests” of the spot like Jean Marc Viande (winner in 2010), The Légier brothers, Pierre Parramon and Didier Leneil, hot shot locals from Marseille, Cedric Bordes or Sylvain Puig. But if Thomas Traversa, currently ranked 4th on the PWA Wave World Tour, will participate, he is definitely the favourite”, Steve Palier, the event organiser comments the situation in teh waveriding discipline.
