Unfortunately there has been no windsurfing competition until today at the EFPT Surf Worldcup Podersdorf in Austria. But the day started with a surprise. Wind.
Some of the early birds, like Dieter van der Eyken or Phil Soltysiak caught some planing conditions with their 5,2 sails from 7-8am. Some missed it and were still asleep. Afterwards the wind dropped totally. To entertain the riders, the organizer offered to visit an artificial pool, where the riders had the chance to test freestyle jetskis or jet boards.

We decided to stay on the beach to use the time sorting all our footage and catching up on some computer work. But suddenly the office tent was moving quite heavily. Big black clouds covered the sky and brought some strong gusts. We immediately shut down our computers and got ready to capture some windsurfing action, but unfortunately the wind disappeared again.

There will be a very early skippers meeting at 6.00 am tomorrow, because the forecast predicts some north-westerly wind. We will keep you updated from the morning on. Stay tuned.
