On February 22 the European Freestyle Pro Tour (EFPT) released their 2017 calendar with 5 freestyle windsurfing events in Austria, Tarifa, Peljesac, Lanzarote and Brouwersdam and three tow-in events in Austria, Croatia (Zagreb) and Brouwersdam at the beginning of the year. The event in Austria, after 2 years of PWA, is an EFPT event again and takes place at a new event location, still at Lake Neusiedl, not in Podersdorf but in Neusiedl. It’s nice to see a new addition to the tour plan this year, a freestyle event in Tarifa, the Toro Andaluz. The events in Austria and Lanzarote have the highest price money, with 10.000€ each and Brouwersdam will host an event for ladies, too.
Update 19.04.2017 Unfortunately both events in Croatia had to be cancelled due to the lack of funding.
A total prize money of 33.000 € will be distributed in 2017, what’s an increase of 15.000 € compared to the 2016 season, provided that the calendar stays like this.
